SIOUX FALLS ESTATE PLANNING COUNCIL

Bret Afdahl was appointed Director of the South Dakota Division of Banking in May of 2011 after serving as Counsel to the Division since October of 2006. Prior to joining the Division Bret worked on the legal staff at the Department of Revenue and Regulation on a variety of tax and compliance issues.　 Bret is a graduate of Northern State University with a degree in political science and business, a graduate of the University of South Dakota School of Law, and holds a certification as a Fiduciary and Investment Risk Specialist (CFIRS) from the CANNON Financial Institute.　 He and his wife, Melissa, live in Pierre with their three boys.
