Life Insurance Trust Planning
This will be a lively presentation covering trust-owned life insurance, various provisions of the Uniform Prudent Investor Act (UPIA) and the Uniform Trust Code (UTC); Exculpation Statues for ILIT; the, so far, only four court cases involving UPIA (and one that also involves the UTC) and trust-owned life insurance; the risk of life insurance and how to manage and creditably evaluate these risks.
About the Speaker:
Gary L. Flotron, MBA, CLU®, ChFC®, AEP® - Professor Flotron has taught at UMSL for over 18 years and is the 2014-15 Recipient of the Chancellor’s Award for Excellence to a Part-Time Faculty Member. An author and frequent national speaker, Gary has spoken to numerous professional associations and conferences; particularly on the topic of the Uniform Prudent Investor Act and Trust-Owned Life Insurance. He has over 35 years of experience in business and estate planning and executive and employee benefit plans. Gary is the past president of the National Association of Estate Planners & Councils, and The NAEPC Education Foundation; a past national board member of the Society of Financial Service Professionals (FSP) and the Foundation for FSP; and Chair Emeritus and member of the executive committee for the Synergy Summit, an organization and think tank composed of representatives from 10 major national legal and financial services organizations involved in estate planning.
